Daveda Taylor has been a clinical physical therapist at Nemours Children’s Hospital for more than 25 years. Holding a doctorate and Master's Degree in physical therapy from Thomas Jefferson University, Daveda has worked in therapeutic services serving outpatient, acute care, and rehabilitative communities within the hospital. The focus of much of her research has been the physical examination and its importance to the overall gait analysis and well-being of each child.

Why I Treat Children

As a child, I had many health issues and did not always receive superior care. I saw my peers receive wonderful care from Nemours. This reality made me very aware of the disparity in health care even in childhood. I wanted to be a part of the solution, to see every child and deliver quality care. I never wanted any child to feel ignored or less than.

“Each child belongs to all of us and they will bring us a tomorrow in direct relation to the responsibility we have shown to them.” (Maya Angelou)

What I'm Passionate About

I am most passionate about providing superior care to pediatric patients and their families. Health care can be a difficult area to manage, and I try to assist in its management.

How I Try to Make A Difference

Every day, I have the mindset of treating every child as I would want my children treated. Before it became a slogan, this was the thought process of every provider I knew at Nemours. I live this every day, to go above what is expected not only in my professional life, but in every aspect of my life. I make a difference by ensuring what I do in life allows every child to feel seen and valued.
